This app is specifically designed for households, tenants, and shared living spaces that rely on sub-meters to divide a single main WAPDA electricity bill.
The Problem I Observed
In many households (especially joint families or those who have installed separate sub-meters due to internal differences) the monthly electricity bill is a constant source of stress. I have personally observed that frequent disputes and arguments break out over improper bill calculations.
It is incredibly common to hear arguments like, "They consumed more electricity, so why should we pay more?" Separate sub-meter solves the problem but calculations are the next challenge. When a single WAPDA bill arrives, manually dividing the consumed units and taxes among different sub-meters is confusing and often inaccurate. This leads to unfairness, resentment, and a disrupted peaceful environment at home.
The Solution
To resolve these exact issues, I developed this calculator. My primary goal is to put an end to these monthly arguments by providing a transparent, accurate, and completely unbiased way to calculate the WAPDA bill across multiple sub-meters.
Important Disclaimer: How the Calculation Works
To keep things fair and simple, this calculator uses a practical approach rather than official WAPDA slab rates or peak-hour calculations.
- No Peak Hours or Slab Rates: Standard sub-meters do not monitor peak vs. off-peak hours (unlike main WAPDA meters). Therefore, this app does not calculate separate peak-hour charges or specific WAPDA unit rates.
- Proportional Division: Instead, the app calculates an exact "average per-unit rate" by taking the Total Main Bill Amount (including all fixed charges and taxes) and dividing it by the Total Units Consumed.
- Why this is fair: While sub-meter users might easily "escape" peak-hour tracking, this calculation ensures they still pay the exact average unit rate that comes with the main total bill. The total bill and taxes are divided proportionally based only on the units each sub-meter actually consumes.
